Childhelp Tennessee Operates Two Programs

• Child Advocacy – This center located on Kingston Pike serves the Knoxville and surrounding community with a child friendly facility for investigation of child sexual abuse.

• Foster Care – The Foster Family Agency is located in on a 50 acre farm in the Seymour community and helps children who have been removed from their families because of abuse, neglect, substance abuse or poor parenting skills that resulted in an unsafe environment.

Child Advocacy Centers Save 36% on Investigation Costs
The National Children’s Advocacy Center and National Children’s Alliance released a study showing investigations conducted in connection with a Child Advocacy Center (CAC) were 36% less expensive than traditional investigations. The Crimes Against Children Research Center reports that CACs are very successful at what they were designed to do, which is coordinate investigations of child abuse by bringing police, child protection, medical and mental health professionals together to help families in a child-friendly environment. This collaborative effort is successfully resulting in reduced expenses for all those agencies involved, in higher quality care and in less overall trauma for the children.

Childhelp Embraces Attachment & Trauma Based Therapy
Childhelp Tennessee provides professional therapy to help children recover from the trauma of sexual abuse or from being removed from their family. The use of evidence based treatments has enabled Childhelp Tennessee to achieve positive outcomes for children in their care.

Partnering Organizations
Childhelp Tennessee partners with local law enforcement agencies, Child Protective Services, the District Attorney’s office, as well as medical and therapeutic professionals to review each abuse case.
